Baseball News Now History, Statistics, and More

When I started Baseball News Now on December 1, 2019, I had no idea that we were going to get this far. It was a long Sunday. But to know how Baseball News Now came to be where it is, let’s look at what happened before there was a website:

Late September

I wrote my first article about the Downfall of The Cubs. Link

September 29

I release a newsletter. I would do this every day until October 4th. The next time that I would release my newsletter would be October 14, and then after that October 17.

November 12-30

I would write two articles, each on the Astros scandal.

December 1

At about 1:00 PM, I think to myself “What if I start a website?”. I had no clue how the hell I was going to start a website on my own, as I had no programming experience in HTML, so I searched “easiest way to make a website”. popped up as the number one search result. There’s also a free plan, which was nice as I had no budget.

I would write 19 articles in December.

I connect my website to a domain — is officially born.

April 16

I started a newspaper called Baseball News Today. I only released one edition, as I couldn’t find anything else to write about.

May 15

I think to myself, “I have a website. I need to do something with it.” So I acted on that thought, as I stayed up until 2:00 AM writing 10 articles. I release those articles daily.

I had my best month, and it’s not even close. I had a total of 357 unique views in June alone, including a 62 view day. I would routinely release 10+ articles a day, often taking up most of my day. One day, I released a Q&A with Theo Epstein and Jed Hoyer that got 115 views. You can check it out here.

I started slowing down, releasing only 14 articles the whole month.

You thought that that was slow, in August I only released FIVE articles. They weren’t very good articles either.

End of August/Beginning of September

BNN Podcast episodes 1 and 2 come out.

So far, I’ve released 6 articles. I hope to get that up to 15 by the end of the month.

So we’re here now. By some miracle, I’m still here. Let’s take a look at where we are.
